Technical progress is omnipresent in our everyday lives and intelligent technologies are improving our lives in many places. This also applies to the medical field. Our specialist practice is one of the pioneers of robot-assisted surgery in Europe. We have been routinely using the MAKO procedure for implanting knee and hip prostheses since 2018.
MAKO robotic arm-assisted knee and hip prosthetics
Numerous studies prove the advantages of robot technology
The technology offers more precise and gentler operations, enables more individualized adjustments to the prosthesis and leads to greater safety.
Studies show, for example, up to 75% fewer follow-up operations for partial knee prostheses and faster recovery after joint replacement. According to scientific studies, the individual adaptation of total knee prostheses to the patient’s anatomy leads to improved function and patient satisfaction compared to the standard technique. In hip operations, the leg length can be adjusted more precisely and incorrect positioning can be prevented, even if the initial position is difficult. This leads to fewer complications. The operation as a whole can be performed with less strain on the muscles, which enables faster rehabilitation.
