Dr. med. Grégoire Thürig

Experience and specialization

I have been working as a knee and hip specialist at articon AG since September 2025. Previously, I was Head Physician for Knee Surgery and Traumatology at Schaffhausen Cantonal Hospital and team doctor for FC Schaffhausen. In 2021, I completed a one-year “Clinical and Research Fellowship” of the German Knee Society (DKG) at the University Hospitals of Hamburg and Münster and have been a certified knee surgeon of the DKG since 2022. I worked for seven years as a senior physician at Fribourg Cantonal Hospital, where I learned hip and knee surgery and was awarded the title of clinical lecturer at the University of Fribourg. During this time, I also completed a travel fellowship with the AO Trauma.

Innovation for individual patient success

People are always at the center of my work. My aim is to offer every patient individualized and scientifically sound treatment at the highest level. This includes the continuous development of modern surgical techniques as well as holistic support on the way back to a pain-free, active life – be it in everyday life, sport or leisure. The promotion of movement and sporting activity in all phases of life is a central component of sustainable treatment success. At articon AG, we attach particular importance to constantly refining proven surgical methods and providing our patients with individual support so that they can achieve their personal goals and benefit from an improved quality of life in the long term.

Research for quality

In order to help my patients in the best possible way and to continuously improve my practical work, I need research. The knee joint is a complex construct that is stabilized by various ligaments that have to be precisely coordinated. Thanks to articon AG’s many years of experience, we are able to use robot-assisted surgery not only to implant and align the prosthesis precisely, but also to adjust the individual tension of the ligaments. In this way, an optimal result is achieved to ensure safety and lasting treatment success.
