Dr. med. Carlo Theus-Steinmann

Since July 2023, I have had the great fortune of working as a senior orthopaedic surgeon at the articon practice. My medical career began at the University of Zurich, where I studied human medicine. I was able to deepen my knowledge during an exciting exchange year at the CHUV in Lausanne. I then completed my specialist training in beautiful central Switzerland at the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital LUKS and the Winterthur Cantonal Hospital KSW in Zurich.

Fellowship in Melbourne, Australia

After obtaining my specialist diploma in orthopaedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system, I was particularly fascinated by the field of hip and knee prosthetics. To expand my knowledge and skills in this field, I completed a 10-month fellowship in Melbourne, Australia. There I received comprehensive training in various navigation and robotic systems and was able to gain an in-depth insight into primary and revision arthroplasty of hip and knee joints.

Chief of Medical Services Military Police Command

In addition to my passion for orthopaedics, I am also very interested in digitalization and the use of new technologies in medicine, such as robotics and artificial intelligence. I find it particularly enriching that the Swiss military offers me the opportunity to interact with colleagues outside my medical specialty and to continuously develop my skills in the areas of emergency medicine and leadership. Since January 2025, I have been appointed Chief of the Medical Service of the Military Police Command.

These diverse experiences have shaped me not only professionally but also personally and have made me a dedicated doctor. I always strive to provide my patients with the best possible care, using innovative approaches to promote their health and well-being.
